About MONDAY Haircare

Jaimee Lupton launched MONDAY Haircare in New Zealand in 2020. Her idea was salon-quality shampoo and conditioner at an accessible price, sold in everyday shops. The bottles sold in Vietnam are made in China, as printed on the label.

MONDAY states that its formulas contain no sulfates or parabens, and that they are dermatologically tested and pH balanced. The brand is approved as cruelty-free under the Leaping Bunny programme of Cruelty Free International, and PETA recognises it as a brand that does not test on animals. The pink bottles are recyclable and printed directly, so there is no plastic label.

Worldwide, MONDAY makes four ranges: Smooth, Moisture, Volume and Gentle. In Vietnam we carry the first three, each as a shampoo and a matching conditioner in 354 ml. Smooth also comes in a 50 ml travel size. All three share a subtle gardenia scent, so you choose by hair type, not by smell. Our shampoo and conditioner pages explain how to pick and use each one.

MONDAY Moisture for dry and dull hair

Moisture is the range for hair that feels dry and looks dull. Its key ingredient is hyaluronic acid, which binds moisture. Coconut oil adds hydration and shine, and shea butter helps seal the cuticle and soften the hair. Use the Moisture shampoo with the Moisture conditioner.

MONDAY Smooth for frizzy, curly and wavy hair

Smooth is made for hair that is curly, wavy, frizzy or hard to manage. Wheat protein locks in moisture and helps prevent frizz. Avocado oil helps form a protective barrier on the hair, and coconut oil adds hydration. If your hair frizzes easily, start here. The 50 ml Smooth shampoo lets you try it before you buy a full bottle.

MONDAY Volume for fine and flat hair

Volume is for thin, fine hair that goes flat and sits close to the scalp. Hydrolysed collagen helps the hair feel fuller. Coconut oil and shea butter hydrate it lightly, and macadamia oil adds shine. Wash with the Volume shampoo, then follow with the Volume conditioner on the lengths only.

Yes, according to MONDAY: the brand states that its shampoos and conditioners contain no sulfates, SLS or parabens. The full ingredient list is printed on every bottle, so you can check it yourself.

Should I use the shampoo and conditioner from the same range?

Yes, that is how MONDAY designs them. Each range pairs a shampoo and a conditioner with the same key ingredients: hyaluronic acid in Moisture, wheat protein in Smooth, collagen in Volume. The conditioner goes on the lengths and ends, not on the scalp.

How do I use MONDAY shampoo and conditioner?

Wet your hair, massage the shampoo into scalp and hair for one to two minutes and rinse well. Apply the conditioner from the mid-lengths to the ends, keep it off the scalp, leave it for one to two minutes and rinse. To open the pump, turn it in the direction of the arrow.
