Rascals diaper size chart by weight, tape and pants
Weights come from the Vietnamese pack and the Rascals size guide. The pack columns show the number of pieces; each link goes to the smallest pack in that size.

Sizes M and L come as tape diapers and as pants, with the same weight range. Tape diapers stop at L. From XL up, All Asia Connect distributes pants only. The CoComelon range is pants printed with the cartoon characters, from M to XXXL.
Size S diapers: what weight?
Rascals size S is for babies from 4 to 8 kg, and it comes as tape diapers only, because the pants start at M.
A baby of 4 to 5 kg fits both NB and S. If the NB tabs still close easily and leave no marks, finish the NB pack. A baby of 6 to 8 kg fits both S and M, and Rascals says to try S first.
Size L diapers: how many kg?
Rascals size L is for babies from 10 to 15 kg, in tape diapers and in pants. The range is the same, so you choose the type by how you change your baby, not by size.
Tape L is the largest tape size we distribute. Once your baby is past 13 kg and the tape L feels tight, the next step is pants in XL.
You can use both side by side: pants L in the day while your toddler runs around, tape L for the night.
Size XL diapers: how many kg?
Rascals size XL is for babies from 13 to 18 kg. At All Asia Connect, XL comes as pants only.
A baby of 13 to 15 kg fits both L and XL. Following the smaller-first advice, stay in L until you see the signs of a tight fit listed below. A baby of 15 to 18 kg fits both XL and XXL.

At what weight can a baby wear diaper pants?
With Rascals, from 6 kg, because Rascals pants start at size M (6 to 11 kg). Weight is only the minimum. The real moment to switch depends on how your baby behaves at changing time:
- Your baby rolls, wriggles or crawls away mid-change.
- Your baby keeps pulling at the tabs.
- Your toddler is starting potty training and needs to pull the pants up and down.
Under 6 kg, or with a baby who still lies still, Rascals tape diapers are the easiest. Switching to pants does not force a size change: tape M and pants M are both 6 to 11 kg.
When to move up a size
Rascals lists five signs in its size guide. One of them is enough to try the next size.
- The diaper starts to leak, even when it is put on correctly.
- You are changing your baby more often than before.
- The two tabs no longer stretch comfortably over the hips.
- The waistband or leg elastics feel tight and leave red marks on the skin.
- You cannot slide a finger inside the waistband.
Do not size up because your baby turned a month older. Weigh, compare with the chart, then look for the signs.
Between two sizes: try the smaller one first
Rascals sizes overlap, so a baby of 7 kg or 14 kg falls into two sizes at once. Rascals advises the smaller size first. It sits closer around the thighs and waist, and the signs above tell you when to change.
From 17 kg a child fits both XXL (15 to 20 kg) and XXXL. XXXL is the largest size and the chart gives no upper limit. Try XXL first.
Try a size with a convenience pack
Rascals convenience packs hold 14 to 28 pieces, enough to try the fit day and night before you buy a big pack. They exist for tape diapers in NB, S and M, and for pants from M to XXL. Tape L and pants XXXL have no convenience pack.

Rascal + Friends, Rascal Friend and Rascals are one brand
If you are looking for the Rascal Friend size chart, this is it. Rascal + Friends started in New Zealand in 2016. In May 2024 the brand renamed itself Rascals and said the products stay the same. Many parents in Vietnam still call it Rascal Friend.
Sizes still go by weight, as before. The chart on this page is the one printed on the Rascals packs on sale in Vietnam. If you still have an older Rascal + Friends pack, go by the weight range printed on that pack. The brand’s story is on our Rascals page.
